Amped is an online subscription platform and community, where users can pre-book their electric vehicle needs from aggregated local EV suppliers using in-app credits. This includes e-bikes, e-scooters, and electric cars. For example, you may want an e-bike for day to to day commuting and a electric car for thoses weekend get aways or even if you just need a vehicle to move a few things.
Amped gives users affordable flexibility and suppliers the opportunity to scale, while building a community of new electric micromobility users.
WHY AMPED?
Transport is Victoria’s second-largest and fastest-growing source of emissions. Melbourne’s car ownership and usage rates are showing significant increases, with 2023 motor sales outperforming 2022 by 12.5%, and 2024 numbers already outpacing last year’s growth. A recent Committee for Melbourne report found car dependence increased post-COVID, with over 75% of trips taken by car. This trend also contributes to road congestion, air and noise pollution, hospital system strain, and perpetual health and environmental degradation.
With e-bikes producing about 6g of CO2-e per person per km (roughly 3x better than buses and 40x better than non-electric cars), Amped curbs this trend by using a model that shifts dependence to electric micromobility products, while still providing access to electric cars as needed.
